The Quran speaks about love in several different contexts. Allah is Al-Wadud, The Most Loving (الودود), and the love of Allah should be the foundation of all other forms of love. Below are all Quranic verses that refer to love in order (as shown in the Quran, not in order of revelation.)

Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “How evil is what your ˹so-called˺ belief prompts you to do, if you ˹actually˺ believe ˹in the Torah˺!” (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:93)

4. Still there are some who take others as Allah’s equal—they love them as they should love Allah—but the ˹true˺ believers love Allah even more. (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:165)

5. Fight in the cause of Allah ˹only˺ against those who wage war against you, but do not exceed the limits.1 Allah does not like transgressors. (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:190)
